Slottie Toy Books were published by the Container Corporation of America (CONCORA) and Rand McNally from 1944 through 1960 and apparently used as promotional items (issued as soft cover booklets) by at least two companies ~ Kelloggs and the New York Central Railroad. The charm of these books is three-fold. They feature a classic story (retold), charming colorful illustrations by two accomplished artists plus, of course, the Slottie toy Ü a sheet of thick cardboard die-cut pieces that once punched out may be put together to create a three-dimensional "toy".
